Managing multiple IBD SA offers?

When you receive an IBD SA offer from a BB, do they expect you to accept right away or do they usually give you a specific deadline to accept or reject the offer?
If I want to try and stall to see if I get an offer from a more prestigious firm, how long can I usually hold out for?
